TEDx TempleU Talk
A Responsible Freedom…
I gave this talk at 29 years old when I was serving as Program Director for Leadership Development at Temple University.
My message was simple but something I believed deeply — that we all have a responsible freedom. The freedom to choose how we lead, how we treat people, and what we stand for. And with that freedom comes a responsibility to use it with integrity and meaning.
I spoke about the cycle of cynicism that traps so many people — and how tomorrow's leaders would break that cycle by anchoring their lives and decisions in core personal values.
Fifteen years later those beliefs still drive everything I do.
They're in how we built Champion Investment Properties. In how we treat our tenants, our investors, and our partners. In why we chose to invest in distressed buildings in communities that need it — not just because it's a good investment, but because we believe in making things better.
The responsible freedom to lead with integrity isn't just a philosophy. It's a daily practice.
I hope this talk encourages you to think about your own responsible freedom — and how you're using it.
Never give up. Always be better.
